Michigan moved on to the second place leaving the Trojans from Southern California in third place on Sunday in the Bowl Championship Standings.
With Ohio State heading the ranking list and Michigan on second Trojans are still in a good position, and still have a chance to climb to the top.
On the other hand, the Buckeyes and Wolverines will gather in Columbus, Ohio next November 18, and will get a spot in the BCS championship game. The Buckeyes have been No.1 during all the season with an average of .9764 of a possible 1.000.
The Trojans’ margin is .9430, but all spectators’ eyes are looking at Michigan and Ohio, being the favorites for keeping the championship despite the fact, both teams are tied for the top place.
The BCS average is established by a team’s standing in the coaches’ poll and the Harris Interactive poll. Each poll counts for a third of a team’s grade. The other third is determined by a compilation of six computer ratings.
The Mountaineers are fourth in both polls but West Virginia does not grade out very good in the computers. And additionally, some of the teams that have lost once at least are: the Cardinals, Auburn, Florida and Texas.
