Dont Needlessly Suffer From Chronic Pain

by Robert Gould

As a chronic pain advocate, with a diagnosis of a herniated disc L-4, L-5, along with bone disc degenerative disease, for many years I have suffered from chronic pain. During these years of endless enduring pain, I have learned a few things from suffering from chronic pain.

First of all, patients seeking treatment from the medical community are treated with a stigma thats associated with chronic pain treatment. This is due for a variety of reasons. Some reasons is physicians are afraid of new government regulations, addiction, diversion, and just the lack of
knowledge when it comes to treating, or should I say undertreating chronic pain.

Its a sad fact, that chronic pain is grossly undertreated by healthcare professionals. Too many Americans are needlessly suffering from chronic pain. It also appears that doctors are hesitant about what types of treatment is best for people that suffer from constant daily pain. As in my case, my doctor told me that he recommended surgery. After several second opinions, after talking to people that have already had surgery with no great results, surgery didnt sound like an option that would be in my best interest.

Failed back surgery is common, and follow up surgery from damage or complications from the initial surgery, didnt seem worth the risk. I would still be in pain, my mobility would be worse, so this was something that I didnt want to chance. But it seems physicians try to pressure you into surgery to justify the prescribing long term narcotic drug therapy.

After trying physical therapy, biofeedback, steroid injections, anti-inflammatorys, to several different over the counter medicines with no great results, I felt helpless. Luckily, I found a physician that finally understood my pain, and am on a narcotic drug therapy program. I no longer feel like a drug addict when going to the doctor, just to get pain meds. I now feel like a human being treated like a chronic pain patient. But after years of suffering, I know theres millions of Americans that are hurting as you read this. Theres people desperately searching for some kind of pain relief.

Chronic pain sufferers are discriminated against tremendously. I think if someone has tried everything to treat their pain, they should be entitled to the proper pain medication to eleviate their pain for a more productive and better quality of life. I am commited to doing whatever I can to help other people that are hurting needlessly in pain. To get some relief from your pain go to: www.rxscripts4u.com
